Established in 1988, The Schools Foundation, Inc. was formed in anticipation of Oregon Legislature’s Measure 5 which fundamentally changed property tax and school funding systems. In 1994 we became a designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS and in 2002, our name was changed to The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools. In 2018 the Education Foundation will celebrate 30 years of service to the educational community and work to prepare our students for success.
Mission Statement
The Education Foundation for the Bend-La Pine Schools prepares our students for success and the future through exceptional educational and extracurricular opportunities.
Simply put, the Education Foundation:
Engages the community in our students’ success
In the classroom – The Foundation secures funds to provide tools for teachers to enhance formal learning through classroom grants
On the field – Provides activity fee scholarships to students to ensure participation in sport and club activities for learning in informal settings
Equitable school experience – Provides funds to students and classrooms that have the greatest need
For our community – Student success leads to community success
Vision Statement
Our programs help create equity for all of our students through access to teacher grants that enhance the classroom experience, and to need-based scholarships that support activity fees for middle and high school students who wish to participate in athletics . We collaborate with education leaders and other community organizations to bring creative and innovative programming to Bend La- Pine Schools. Our efforts positively impact every student in the district.
Since 1988, the Education Foundation has invested over $2.1 million into our K-12 public schools through the generosity of our business and community support, foundation grant awards and individual donors. Without our donors, this would not be possible. You can make a difference in our Bend-La Pine and Sunriver public schools by making a donation and directing specific use of your funds to one of our programs.
